Thankful UBC Day 8

We have made it a full week for the UBC, Ultimate Blog Challenge. I usually would’ve gotten sidetracked by now. So, I am happy I am staying on task. For our challenge today, it is pretty relaxed considering it is Sunday. For today, we are asked to post a video on our site and write a few sentences about it. My contribution to the challenge is below. Enjoy.

On June 30, 2017, my only son graduated from BMT, Basic Military Training, for the USAF, United States Air Force. I could not have been more proud. He was 21 when he joined and is well on his way to living his best life possible.

We are a family that believes in our country and serving her proudly. My children are the fourth generation military and third generation USAF. In the video below, you will be able to see our time during graduation in San Antonio, TX. W

We went to Sea World, Texas Roadhouse for some steak, bowling on base with his training squadron, dinner on base at the dining hall. Just a good time and love all around.

My husband put this video together to capture our time spent together. Gotta love him. This song is a perfect choice and always gives me chills. At the end of the video they recite the Airman’s Creed which goes as follows:

Airman’s Creed

I am an American Airman.

I am a Warrior.

I have answered my Nation’s call.

I am an American Airman.

My mission is to Fly, Fight, and Win.

I am faithful to a Proud Heritage,

A Tradition of Honor,

And a Legacy of Valor.

I am an American Airman.

Guardian of Freedom and Justice,

My Nation’s Sword and Shield,

Its Sentry and Avenger.

I defend my Country with my Life.

I am an American Airman.

Wingman, Leader, Warrior.

I will never leave an Airman behind,

I will never falter,

And I will not fail.

Be sure to let me know how you liked the video. Have you served in the military or have family that has served? Do you like the military or wish it didn’t exist? All feedback is welcomed. I don’t judge. Thanks for reading

  1. What a wonderful video and congrats to you son and entire military family! My hubby serviced in the Army and had a tour of duty in Vietnam back in the 60’s. I applaud all those who join the military to serve and protect our country. May God Bless you son!!
